Messerschmitt Bf 109 G/K vol. III – Krzysztof Janowicz

ISBN: 978-83-60445-14-3

The third part of the monograph on the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G & K variants concentrates on the operational history of the fighter units which used these planes over Europe and North Africa during the last three years of WW2. The air battles against U.S. four-engined bombers in the Defense of the Reich and actions over Normandy together with the Battle of the Bulge and the ‘Unternehmen Bodenplatte’ are thoroughly described. The combat use of ‘Gustav’ on the Eastern Front is also discussed with coverage of triumphs of Erich Hartmann and other JG 52 aces. A separate chapter is devoted to the operations beyond the Polar Circle. The book features a short description of Bf 109 G service in other Axis air forces and Switzerland.
